Is such information spread on social media authentic?<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">We opine, no it&#8217;s not authentic. Why?:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">(A) Burning camphor does not kill any virus what so ever. However, huge quantities of camphor vapors inhaled can lead to camphor poisoning. Hence burning camphor in quantities has no impact on the virus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">(B) Avoid Non-veg Food Intake &#8211; it has been noticed in China certain markets were selling prohibitory wild animals. However, in India we neither sell prohibitory wild animals nor do we eat such wild animals who are prone to be carriers of Coronavirus. In India the non-veg food items legitimately allowed to be traded in Indian markets include fish caught from Indian Seas, Chicken, Mutton, Eggs. Till date these animals consumed as food items have not been found infected or carriers of Coronavirus. On the contrary such high protein food may help strengthening immunity. Hence there is no need to panic and there is no need to stop consumption of Indian non-veg food items.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Prevent Novel Coronavirus 2019 (2019-nCoV):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Coronavirus can be prevented by simple measures such as:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"margin-top: 0in;\" start=\"1\" type=\"1\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in;\">Take medications or steps as recommended by AYUSH Ministry<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in;\">Personal Hygiene and Social Distancing \u2013 such as washing hands with soap for 20 seconds or by hand sanitizer having at least 70% spirit, not taking hands nearer to face, mouth, nose, cleaning nose with plain simple water at least once in a day, stay at home till quarantined, maintain social distance of at least 1 meter with other individual, cover your mouth with handkerchief or palm while sneezing, coughing. If you have covered your mouth with hand in absence of handrkerchief then immediately wash it with soap for at least 20 seconds. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in;\">Drink Ample of Water \u2013 1.5 to 2 liters per day<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in;\">Take Balanced Diet \u2013 includes high proteins such as sprouts, fish, egg; citrus fruits such as guava, lemon, oranges which contains a lot of vitamin C<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in;\">Do Physical Exercise, Yoga, Meditation \u2013 regular, consistent schedule <span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">An individual is prone for epidemic diseases if he \/ she is <strong>not<\/strong> following the above preventive strategy and is bowed down with stress (mental \/ physical). Too much worry about the epidemic disease is also attributed as mental stress attracting an epidemic disease.
